Cosplay Yarn Beards
We love to make different crafts to use in our different cosplays, you can even make your own adaptions to the beard, change the shape or areas you add stubble or a longer beard.
STEP ONE
Gather the materials you'll need, choose a base fabric, then pick what coloured yarns you would like to use for your beard. Make sure you use fabric scissors or very sharp scissors when cutting the fabric. To make the shape of the beard we held the material up to our face, then cut slits on either side for our ears. Then using a marker to outline under our cheekbones, then around our lips. And along the jawline. Then cut this shape out.
STEP TWO
Gather the coloured yarns you have chosen, then cut lots of them roughly the same size, we wrapped them around 3-4 fingers, the cut, so they could be folded over or glued at the loop. Plug in your hot glue gun, and begin building the beard.
STEP THREE
Start building the beard by starting along the jawline, and have fun layering the pieces. You can trim as you go or trim at the end. Make sure to cover any gaps.
STEP FOUR
Take your time layering and trimming the beard. If you don't have a glue gun you can sew the loops of the yarn onto the fabric.
